I have a case of Amsoil I will start using as soon as I get my break-in miles over with. Me, I won't set one foot in a Walmart.

You're at 2000 miles already? You're good and ready for the Amsoil. :thumb: I did at 1300 miles.

I'm only at 950 miles. 1st change at 25 miles, 2nd at 211, 3rd at 585, 4th at 950. 5th will be 2000. Then I will go to normal intervals. I broke this one in according to Motoman.

I notice different people use different oil... Rotella... Amsoil... Mobil1... and what not...

How often are you guys changing the oil??? Owner's manual said 7500 miles... I change my oil at 3000-5000 miles... Depends on what I have in there... If it is synthetic, I push toward 5000 miles before changing the oil...

What oil you use? and what interval are you changing your oil?

1500 miles before synthetic.

Wive's tale... Corvettes roll of the assembly line with Mobil 1 synthetic in their crank case. I have used synthetics at first oil change for the last 20 years... For the record I always do my first oil change (on a new bike) very early on (few hundred kms maybe). All get synthetic after about 200kms... I have been running Rotella T 5-40 in all my bikes for the last 4 - 5 years.... The only problem I have ever had with a bike was way back in 1984 with a Honda CBX550... cam chain issue.

A little excessive, but at least you have the right idea. Glad that some people are not caught up on the many old wive's tales out there, especially the Amsoil scam...:thumb:

Not excessive, if you see how much metal you have after 20 miles you'd change it after the first 10 (like I will on my next new bike). Lots of junk bouncing around in there.
