SENA Bluetooth Issue

Have been using SENA Bluetooth in helmets since 2007. When I got another bike after a break, I bought a Cycle Gear BILT helmet with a SENA DWO-6. Had an issue with the first one not holding charge on battery for over 8 hours of use. Cycle Gear swapped it for a new helmet, still with a DWO-6.

This one has had an annoying habit of randomly blasting a loud BEEEEP while riding with it linked to my phone. Never paired it with any other helmet BTs, bit SENA tech support said that helmet intercom mic is likely issue and needs to be turned off.

They sent an email with the recommended steps to address issue, after downloading a device manager on laptop from cyclegearOEM page, as I do not use apps which they recommend. I had downloaded the device manager earlier in troubleshooting to update the BIOS, then deleted the device manager.

I could not find any help on the issue online for the DWO-6, so posting in case someone else is cheap like me and looking for a fix. LOL

Steps to change settings in CG device manager, ( CycleGear OEM ) are:

To troubleshoot the issue, please follow these steps in your Cycle Gear Device Manager:
1. Disable the VOX Intercom.
2. Lower the VOX Sensitivity to level 1.
3. Ensure that Advanced Noise Control is turned on.

Found the issue was in other SENA devices, so this might help someone. Will come back and edit if worked or not. Not riding anymore today as we have some weather moving in.

Took a test ride with helmet this morning, and problem still exist. I called SENA, and advised I was not pleased. They said please return to Cycle Gear.

I called the manager to give him a heads up. He said he has not heard of the beeping issue, and has sold tons of the helmets. After looking around I took a newer model, 3.0, to give it a shot as he said it is not that common a problem. Charging it now and will test ride it soon.

Took helmet back to the Cycle Gear shop, and talked to manager. He said he had heard of battery issues, but not the loud random beep in all the BILT helmets he has sold. He offered to replace or order any helmet I wanted, with discount equal to my BILT helmet cost.

After discussion, I decided to try one more helmet. It was a V3 and believe others were a V2, military tech background makes me remember V series numbers easily. Took the test ride this morning and no issues! Kudos to Cycle Gear, and the local manager Bill for working the issue with me to resolution.
