For close to 45 years, I've been in the habit of shifting into neutral just before stopping. I know m/c safety instructors want you to be in gear in case there's danger of being rear-ended, but holding in a clutch in gear just goes against my grain. Anyhow, in the short time riding the V650, I've gone to shift into neutral from 2nd coming to a stop only to find I'm still in a gear & don't even know which one since lifting the shifter puts me in another gear & not neutral if I was in 1st. I did some reading online trying to understand how the PNF works, but still am not sure how or if it can be used the way I want. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
