I purchased mine at the end of year 2015. The part number is 99924-1490-31. It applies only to 2015 I guess.
It doesn't contain any information related to swapping the fuel pump filter.
See attached pic.

Does it give you anything about the fuel filter or at least a picture like mine to show if the filter is the same or maybe Gen 2 type? Wondering since 2015 was the first year did they still use Gen 2 filter.

From the Mk 2 Service manual the pump looks same as Mk 1

Mk 3 Pump is different but still says filter is not serviceable and needs to replace the pump as a unit

Look at my post #15, the last picture and what is written. This is from a Kawasaki service manual Part # 99924-1490-07. The page you quote from isn't in my manual. Your mileage may vari

What year or years does your manual cover? I spoke with another member that his only covered 2015. Mine covers 2015-2020. this site I'm adding a link to is helpful at looking at all years even though it is for US. Great to check part numbers for interchanging Kawasaki Parts, Accessories, Gear | Kawasaki Parts Warehouse
Of course they'd rather see you spend $364.21 for a fuel pump instead of $74.04 for the filter, which both are outrageous. Myself, I'd add an inline filter after the tank like automobiles do, millions of automobiles can't be wrong. It's what motorcycles did before fuel injection.

I'm under the impression that the service manual for 2015, etc. are not up to date until maybe a later date such as 2018 or whatever.

If you search on Partzilla for a 2015 Kawasaki Versys 650, a fuel filter kit is shown for the fuel pump with part number 99999-0525. So ... I can only guess that this applies to all Gen 3s.
It is listed at $68.86 USD... plus shipping from USA.

Note: I have been ordering items from Partzilla for over 20 years. Their prices are usually quite good.

On the other hand, I have ordered the filter from aliexpress for $4.61 shipping included. That converts to $2.50 USD.

I'm not suggesting to order from China. I'm only posting the information. :)

I looked on partzilla and saw it. Also looked at aliexpress and only saw Gen 1 filters
Kawasaki wants $74 I'd be inclined to if there's no ill effect remove the factory filter and install an inline filter outside of the tank like in the old days. Cheaper and damn sure easier to get to and change. What you think?
Did some online searching. It appears 2016 was the first year for these filters on the Versys. Here's a list of fitments 99999-0525 Kawasaki Kit, Fuel Filter $74.04 - AdeptPowersports

I did more digging and found this

On Partzilla, if one searches for the fuel pump on the 2015 Versys 650, part number 99999-0525 appears.
I'm in no hurry to do this, However, when time comes, I'll check it out. :)

One safety caution on the external filter idea.
Make sure the filter and fittings are rated for fuel pump pressure. Gasoline spraying on a hot engine with sparking plugs would be no fun at all.
The old days just had the fuel level in the tank for pressure (almost none).

Arknt

For sure, not sure what pressure the bike does but cars are at least 45lb. Here's what I use...

Eventually got around to replacing the fuel filter on my 08
Also threw on some new stick coils for good measure while trying to track down my little misfire

The white piece was stuck to the filter looks to be the paper seal off the screw on cap of some petrol treatment bottle that someone poured in to the tank :) ( was not me :)

Just need to finish putting it back together and go for a test ride and see if there is any difference tomorrow

Did you buy the filter or the whole pump? Highflow lists the filter for 2015 on, for $15 for I think 3.
