Hi guys (and ladies)

I'm in search for a windshield that can protect me from the turbulence on my head. Actualy I mount the MRA Vario (Kawasaki) but I'm 6+ ft high (187 cm!) and after 1 hour of driving I have the ears compromised by the turbulence :/

I've Versys 650 My 2011

I'm watching the Givi D410ST but I prefer wathcing other solutions.

I'm watching for some like "BRACKET MADSTAD" but home made and fitting the shield that I want (why not like the Versys My 2015 widnshield system, or why not put a BMW Gs shield?)

Any suggestion or experience? Thanks

Hi Marco. I love Italy. Would love to do Tuscany on a bike and taste some Brunello di Montalcino wines.

Although ir would't resolve the bufeting problem on the helmet, do you consider ryding with earplugs?

When I do highway traveling for more than 15/20min I always wear them. And no that I'm used to it I'm really anoyed when I forgot them.

i have an after market givi screen with a puig spoiler on my 2008. i'm right at 6ft with short legs and long torso. spoiler is adjustable. i also put a couple of washers under the screen bracket's lower screws to angle it back a bit. no turbulence, buffeting. should have modified the givi screen years ago.

@NunoMt: Yes, Toscana is fantastic. From 1 ro 17 years old I do my holidays (with family first and with friends after) in Toscana. I'm from Emilia Romagna: I'm sure that you appreciate food like: lasagne, cappelleti, gnocco fritto, tigella...
For era plugs: Yes, i'v think to them but I don't like them. I prefer to resolve with a defintive solution (ok hear plugs for long traveling, but the 30 mins every day for going to work... I prefer a good windeshield).

@Jay_Chicago: thanks, but I don't find your windscreen for the MY 2011...

@tommyvous59: thanks. I would a windshield fitting system like the 2008 or 2015+ MY. I don't understand why they made a different system on '10-'14 MY.

I put my stock windscreen for my 2009 Versys upside down and then bolted a stock windscreen from a 2013 V-strom 650 on top so its 2 layers. I got the idea from somewhere on these forums. I got the strom screen for free from another forum. If you are willing to experiment, then there are more options than a person could list. You may even be able to do something similar to mine and save lots of money. So far, I'm very happy with my set up.

I just recently got the National Cycle V-Stream Tall Touring windshield. For reference I am 6' 1.5" and the first time I hit the freeway with it on I was going about 75 mph when I realized I still had my helmet visor up. I had it about 2/3 of the way up and was still looking over the top. There's still some wind noise, but I have a loud helmet (HJC CL-17). With the windshield and earplugs you should be OK with the ears and the turbulence reduced significantly.

I do still get turbulent air if I'm behind a larger vehicle (truck) but that's just a sign to back off and give them some room.

I have a 2015 Versys 650.

I just recently got the National Cycle V-Stream Tall Touring windshield.

Could you post a picture, and what is your inseam? I'm 6 ft too but afraid to order the Tall Touring in case I am actually looking through the windshield.

My inseam is 32/33 range. I don't have a pic of it readily available, but I ride with mine adjusted about halfway up and I still look over the top. So, with that reference even if your eye level is an inch or two lower than me you'd have room to put it on the lowest setting and probably still be able to see over the top.

They also have a Sport Touring (medium sized, N20116) windshield that may work well for you.

They have a comparison of the stock to their windshields, which is a good reference. Hope that helps!

i think the things to consider are how big of a basic screen you want, supported by good reviews for your bike, and (important) an **adjustable** spoiler, that either comes with the screen, or that you can add to the screen in question.... a lot of people swear by madstad, but for a 2014 they only show a screen without the adjustable spoiler. myself, i had to put together my own package. i already had the larger givi screen for my 2008, but years later, measured the width and angles of the top of the screen, and found that the piug spoiler would work, and IT DOES. in addition, i tilted the windscreen bracket back a little by putting a couple of washers under the lower bracket screws, effectively tilting the whole windscreen back a bit. that, with adjusting the tilt of my spoiler, did the trick, and i have a nice quiet air bubble now, with just enough air flow on top to kiss my helmet vents. you might have to take the same investigative approach. hope this helps.
