Today I...

Replaced the crappy stock mirrors with Emgos. We'll see how they handle high speeds and vibrations.

By njd at 2010-07-13

Installed a fused connection to the battery (gerbings)

Installed a bmw style outlet plug attached to a handlebar mount (sw motech)

Installed a switch to turn power on/off to the outlet (gerbings)

By njd at 2010-07-13

Installed a U-bolt Ram mount to mount my Garmin Quest 2 GPS

By njd at 2010-07-13

Finally, I added crash bars (sw motech)

Looks good....All you need to go with the mirrors now is Speedy's wideners...then you can see more than your elbows. I have the Emgo's....not fond of the looks of them but they don't come loose and quell a bit more vibes.

BTW...stopping the farkling....not likely! Mine got so bad I needed a web-site to chronicle my issues. www.versysfarklefest.com Enjoy!

Oh it is way too late my friend.

My V now has a new seat (Baldwin), and a new windshield on the way (Large Calsci).

Pics will come soon. Probably taking a trip up north this weekend to break in the new seat.

Just did the same, and so far I'm pleasantly surprised. They're not perfect, but instead of the blur starting in the 35-40 mph range, it's now more like 60-65.

I've also noticed that the handlebar seems to be shaking a bit less; I don't have a way of testing this, but it may be that the mass and location of the stock mirrors actually add to the vibration. If so, Kawi could fix it pretty easily going forward.
