Hello everyone. My girlfriend has finished the MSF class earlier this summer and she just bought her dads '08 Versys. It's a little tall for her, but she still manages it pretty well...with the exception of two tip overs in parking lots. Both times she was stopped and trying to position the bike better in the parking spot. The disappointing thing is that both times she tipped over the cast aluminum brackets that hold the peg/brake and peg/shift lever broke completely off the bike. It seems like a pretty bad design that the pegs don't fold up or something. I've looked at some crash bars, and of course we are going to order a lowering kit, but does anyone have any one advice on some after market brackets that can replace the cheap cast aluminum brackets? I've had quite a few bikes, and I've dropped quite a few of them (I completely rag dolled a KLR once and then rode it home), and I've never had so much damage from such a small tip over. The worst part about it, is the bike becomes completely useless after that little tip over. I hate to see once we start hitting dirt roads what will happen. Anyway, thanks in advance for any help. And BTW, I love the bike other wise.

I'm not sure that I've seen any other rider foot peg brackets for the V.

That being said, the V foot pegs DO fold up. They are spring loaded, unless something has been changed on your particular bike.

Rob,
This isn't a solution, but I hope you saved the parts. :goodidea: Take them to a welding shop to get re-welded as good as new for less $$$! :goodluck:

bscott - I know the pegs fold up, but it seems that both times the bike fell over, instead of folding up, the pegs just pushed into the bike and broke the plate. Anyway, thanks for the reply, and if I find any after market stuff I'll post back here.

fasteddiecopeman - I've got an aluminum tig welder, so maybe I'll give it a whirl!
