I'm looking at a 2012 Versys. My hero was the tortoise not the hare. For someone who rides only on road, within the speed limit, with only moderate acceleration, what mpg should one expect? Thanks.

I also have averaged very close to 50 mpg in a little over a year and 5500 miles of riding, mostly on back roads including a few longer trips. No changes to stock gearing.

I get mid to high 40's to 50. Mostly due to wrist action. Hurry go faster mids. relax enjoy speed limit, 50.

I just bought an 09 with about 14,000 miles on it. My first tank I got 49.6 and that was with a lot of playing around. I have not checked since but I would assume it's went up a decent amount since I've been riding like you described.

I picked my 2011 in San Diego Saturday morning, put my 250lb, 6' 2" body on it, behind the enlarged windscreen. 200 miles at 85 MPH later, 47 MPG.

Usually on my '08, around 55 mpgUS, occasionally as much as 60. Just did about 1,000 miles on my '09 and got around 20 km/L (a bit over 43 mpgUS).

:welcome:

I average closer to 45, but I do a lot of city riding in the hills of San Francisco. When I only ride in The City I get less than 40. :(
