Hey all, I have the weirdest alignment issue that I can't figure out. I recently changed out my sprockets, chain, and back tire. Now my chain alignment tool doesn't agree with the adjusters/tick marks. I took it to the dealership and they couldn't find anything. I don't know if somehow I bent something or what.

In the attached pictures you can see that the alignment tool tells me to turn the wheel more left. If I align according to the alignment tool then the bike adjusters are off by more than the distance between tick marks. I've not had problems with them disagreeing before.

go by the chain tool, this is a common problem, so look at both threads;

What bothers me is that the tool and adjusters agreed before the sprocket change. Thanks! I'll just align by the tool. The dealership tried telling me to always align by the adjusters. As in measure and make sure they are both at the same distance.

They can be "OUT" by quite a large amount! Here're two pics showing my '08 when I had aligned the wheel, to show how FAR it is from the swing-arm lines.

DON'T trust them UNLESS you've confirmed that they ARE correct!

The alignment marks on my 2015 are way out of whack. I use a laser alignment tool, not the marks on the swingarm.

The alignment mark are quite not right all the time. I trust the alignment tool for setting chain and also visual check for straighten for front and back wheel.
