Back when I was racing a Triumph 650 "FUEL" dragster, I was using a QD rear-wheel (the sprocket/chain stayed on the bike while you removed the tire/wheel combo). It was during time-trials - I 'dropped' the clutch and had the bike go into a big wheelie, turning left while almost vertical.

I did NOT crash, but on checking the wheel I found that one of the bearings was 'going south', and had caused me to almost 'crap' myself.

REPLACED THAT bearing PDQ!
