I'm trying to install this stupid rear rack and they included this one weird bolt that I don't have a tool for. I looked it up in Google and I think it's called a torx bolt. It looks like this, kind of like a star with a thing in the middle http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41jip2z308L._SX425_.jpg

Does anyone know what tool/size is needed for this? I can't find any info online, it's not in the instructions, and even calling Kawasaki support didn't help. I just want to get this thing on!

The part number is 92172-0269
If anyone has a service manual I think it's located in (P/No.: 99924-1490-01)

IF it's like your pic (w/ the 'stud' in its center...), it's a "security bolt", but I can't see WHY they would do that. IF no stud - just a Torx bolt.

Any big box home store will have a folding set like normal allen wrenches for chump change.

If it's a security bolt, the bits are also set as a set for quick change screw drivers.
I think my set of security bits cost me about 10 bucks.
The only reason I like them is because you can get fairly gorilla with them before they strip out.

Where did you purchase yours? Such as home depot?

Yea it was a security bolt like the pic I attached. I was able to find the right tool at the second hardware store I visited and got the rack on. My guess would be to prevent someone from easily stealing the entire setup from the back. Considering the topbox, color trims, rack set, monokey system, back rest, base plate etc cost me over $800 that's a nice little peace of mind
