Anyone on here used the Dunlop Sportmax GPR 300? Seems opinions claim they are marginal in the wet. Any info on wet traction much appreciated.

Looking at those tires they seem to have very "marginal" siping for water extraction. I would only use those tires for late-spring, summer type tires.

Usually a good wet traction tire will have the siping go from the center to the outside in a continuation.

Are you looking specifically for a tire that will handle wet roads?

Thanks, I am always reluctant to post TIRE questions. I've had the GPR 300 on other bikes with no wet traction issues. I think I'll use your recommendations with the VERSYS though. I know tires are an acquired taste, but the V is a different animal.

I used many brands on a variety of bikes and these Bridgestone S-21's are my favorites, not to mention the most affordable. A set from Rocky Mountain ATV will cost you less than just a rear tire of many other brands.

A set at $182 delivered to your door is pretty hard to beat. I am on my second set and this will be my tire going forward.

Try a set I'm pretty sure you will love them too.

Update: I rode these GPR 300 tires (on my 2009 650) all through the Oregon/Washington/California wet season with no issues whatsoever. Excellent wet weather traction even when zipping around the track (Pat's Acres Canby) or commuting around Seattle , Portland or San Fran in stop and go traffic. They have 8,000 miles on them now and have more to go. Can't beat that.
