We know that the versys 650 uses 160 60 r17 on the rear tire. I want to discuss 3 example if it is possible to use other measures
180 55 r17
170 60 r17
170 55 r17

Original 160 60 r17

I would like to mount a Michelin 5 size 180 55 r17 in my versys

This won't answer your question, but I've used 150/70 x 17 rears, mostly in SHINKO E705s.

Personally I plan to put a 170 60 R17 Dunlop RoadSmart on mine this spring as it will help with speedometer error
Tire manufactures recommend 5.5-6.0 rim width for 180 tires
Here's a video you may find useful

WELCOME aboard Daniversys650.

I have two V650s - an '08 Gen 1 in AZ, and a '15 V650LT in Canada (which I'm giving to my son, as I'm getting rather "ANCIENT").

BTW - since I got the first one in September '08, I have ridden Kawaski Versys 650s OVER 198,000 MILES, and (FWIW) I've ridden OVER 272,565 miles since retiring on 30 April '03.

I started riding back in 1963, and I have NO IDEA how many miles I rode between '63 and '03....
