This week I installed T-Rex engine and luggage guards. I wasn't too sure if they would protect the front indicators or the side cases. So.....to test it I "gently" laid my bike down to check. See the results below. I am pretty impressed by the design and the quality of these. Can't wait till the make a center stand!

I like those but the rear bag bars would be ugly with the bags removed...........
Agreed, I don't plan on taking them off unless i am stopping while on a trip for the night.

Luggage bars Work!`

Well, I found out that the luggage bars work. I am not used to how wide these cases are yet. I was leaving my house and clipped my car. :frown2: Almost took the rear bumper off the car but no damage to the Versys, HA

I noticed they changed the engine guard by adding an extra cross bar at the top. I have the previous year model with only one cross bar.

Anyone know if there's a known issue with the previous engine guard or did they modify it just for the sake of it?

Well, I emailed T-Rex to inquire about the crash bar redesign and this is the reply I got :

"The reason for the redesign was because we were receiving requests to add the top cross bar so that customers can mount additional lights to it. Although the additional crossbar does add extra strength to it, it was not the reason behind the redesign. The older design is still strong enough to protect your bike and there is not any issue that you should be concerned about."

Do you have Aux lights installed by any chance? I'm looking into engine/crash guards but I have the OEM aux LED lights and it looks like some of the guards won't fit with the lights.

I have the SW-Motechs on my '15, w/ a set of DENALI DMs attached to the lower front mount, so they're inboard.

Their mounts are welded to the lower-front mounting bolt, spacers.

Oh man. I ordered the DM lights and thinking about returning them. I can not figure out how to install them. Versys 650 is my 1st bike (a month of ownership now) and I know nothing about wiring.

Would you be able to take few pictures on how you have the wiring all connected and setup? I just came to realize that Kawasaki have wiring configured at the front of the bike but denali DMs still need to be routed back to under the seat to hook directly to the battery, right?

My bike is 2017 and came with DC power adapter, so I think the front connections are used up? I'm so confused and frustrated to say the least. Would appreciate any help I can get.

Right now I can't, and later I'll try to look up that info, but I THINK I used the OEM wiring that becomes "hot" after you add the Kawi relay behind the headlights. PM me if I forget....

Okay. No rush. When ever you get a chance. The thing is, I have the relay and using the connectors for the DC power adapter. So not sure how to connect multiple things to that. If that's even possible.

I'll send you a .pdf (from Kawi) about how to install their lights, as you can just use the part you need. Look for a PM w/ my e-mail address, IF it isn't readable from this attachment.

I'm looking into buying this set of engine/luggage guards as well. Anyone know if they work with the motowerks highway peg mounts?

I'll also be installing LED aux lights at some point so if they're compatible with those that would be great. I'm good at wiring so if the factory setup doesn't work I can create something on my own.

Not sure if you are after this? DataDim Technology Also I easily modified the included single pole switch to be high beam for the Denali. Low is when I key on, that is my Denali are on low automatically once I key on, however I run high all the time. The illuminated switch is used for flashing people ahead of me, also some use the high beam headlight, I don't like that, plus my low beam headlight is turned on initially by my brake light since I have a series regulator, I don't recommend this but with the Denali lights, I am confident I could get home in the dark with just the Denali lights.

Yes the 27mm Version. I'm looking for something compatible with those. I do really like the luggage bars on the T-Rex setup. Those work amazing on my CSC RX3 that comes stock with them.
