Guys;
Looking for some advice on what I can take off the bike to lighten it up a bit...I'm a bigger guy (6'1", 240) and am looking at putting on a top case soon without taking away from some torque. What do ya think?

There is nothing much to strip from the V that will save on weight except the Exhaust.

I think the V can handle your weight + some extra weight on you luggage.

:goodluck: and how about losing some of your weight if that possible.:D

I kind of hate to publish personal data online but, I'm in the 300# without ATTGAT and the V is quite good for me

I can scare myself quite allright if I want to

I have givi side case (V35) and carry small stuff all the time

So your 10 - 15 pound you want to save on the exhaust is insignificant

Enjoy the V ...

What can you strip off to save weight? Pretty much everything. It all depends on how far you want to go.

Things that can go:
stock exhaust (must replace)
front cowls/fairings
radiator shrouds
seat shrouds
side frame covers
passenger footpeg trellis
belly pan
fenders
fairing, bellypan and sidecover mounting brackets
turn signals (local laws permitting)
stock headlight assembly and mounts (replace with something lighter)
stock coolant overflow (replace with something lighter)
stock handlebars (replace with something lighter)
stock mirrors (replace with something lighter)

Most won't want to go quite that far, but mine is proof that there is alot on the versys that can be removed and will save alot of weight.

How much did it all add up to in the end? I'd guess 20'ish pounds, maybe? Pretty cool looking, actually.
