Was eating a late lunch at Wendy's today at the corner of Rosecrans and Lakewood Blvd. Saw a green V-300 on lakewood blvd heading in the direction of Mid-Cities Honda/Kawasaki in Lakewood CA....

Cool I'd like one. I'd probably already bought one but they don't offer test drives at my Kawasaki dealer So I've been contemplating between the 300 and the 650 for over a month now and after watching every youtube video known to man I can't make up my mind.I may just wait til next year. I'm not that experienced of a rider but I did very well at the MSF course. If the 300 has no problem pulling my 225lb butt around on these WV mountain highways where I live at 75mph and its not completely comically screaming doing it, I would probably prefer the 300 because of it's easy to handle size but I'll never know til I drive one. nearest test drive is 90 miles in another state away. I may just have to do it.

Mine has no problems hauling my 220lb butt - and I have geared mine up for a more relaxed cruising speed. Sure, a 650 has more torque, but it also has more weight. The biggest issue is that it dies quickly at very low rpm. Use the gearbox to prevent it bogging and you will have no problem - and you do not need to thrash it.

Our local dealer had a metallic graphite gray one on the floor, but they didn't allow test rides. :/ So, we went to the dealer 40 minutes away and they had a metallic graphite gray one on the floor and the salesman told us they just got a candy lime green one in the day before and the Service Dept was just finishing up putting it together.

Take the drive and make a day of it. It'll be a great way to burn off some of the "break in miles". We bought my dh's first big bike 6 hours away. My first bike was 3 hours away. If that dealership won't work with you, someone else will. :wink2:
