After 10,000 miles of riding my V, I would like to put a softer rear spring on my stock shock. Does anyone know of a source that could supply a spring that is 10-20% softer, but the same length and diameter as the stock spring?

Thanks! :usa:

Progressive HyperPro Spring...

Maybe a softer initial rate to mimic a linkage type shock setup is what i keep thinking for me at 160 lbs. I would love to fine tune the small sharp, pothole, jolts...... The roads here in San Diego are in terrible condition.... I think i will order a Hyper Pro rear spring...:goodidea:

Yes, my 10,000 mile 2009 is @ lowest preload setting and full soft on the rebound ....for the concrete freeways with expansion joint ripples ...the ones that are on my daily commute... the bike is close to perfect , so in the twisty's this bike rails the corners as well as any bike i've had in 40 years of street riding... Damn... I'm getting old....

You trials guys must just have tender butts:D

Have you turned down the preload?

When I ride Trials - I never sit down - the bike has no seat:eek::)

Yes, my shock is set on full soft for both preload and damping.

A progressive spring sounds like a great idea. I've heard that they are harder to get in the right strengths though.

Another possibility would be to stack two springs with different rates.
Rode trials MANY years ago and loved it. My Ossa MAR had saddle that amounted to about 3/4 of an inch of foam, but I rarely sat on it.

I would imagine you could find a spring outfit that would be able to help.

Try Hyperpro: http://www.hyperpro.com/

or Race Tech: http://old.racetech.com/

Also try their spring rate calculator: http://old.racetech.com/evalving/SpringRateCalculation/dirtspring.asp?brand=Kawasaki&yr=09&ml=KLE650 Versys&formuse=form1&SpringType=Fork&bikeid=308
