Yes I am fortunate to live close. I can be in the Smoky Mountains park boundaries in 2 stop signs, no red lights. Been making these runs almost every weekend. I also run the southern Blue Ridge Pkwy. See pics
Nice. I spent a long weekend in the DuPont State Forest and the High Temps barely touched 80 degrees while most of the southeast was in a heat wave. Draw a square from Mount Mitchell south to the South Carolina line, west to Chattanooga and I would love to retire right smack in the middle!

Decided to head out to Bridgeton, Indiana yesterday. Talk about in the middle of nowhere! The nearest gas stations are a very windy indirect 20 miles away in Brazil or Terra Haute. But the trip from those to Bridgeton on winding, wooded, farmy and lake-addled bucholic roads pays off dearly.
