Palin when asked about the far right planks of the Republican platform, (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chris-kelly/sarah-palin-might-not-kno_b_137163.html):

"Now, finally, we have very solid planks in the platform that will allow us to build an even stronger foundation for our country. It's all good and it's encouraging. You would maybe have assumed that we would have gotten further away from those strong planks. But no, they're there, they're solid, we stand on them and again I believe that it is the right agenda for the country at this time. Very, very clear and contrasted tickets in this election November 4th. People are going to see the clear contrasts, you just go to the planks in our platforms and that's where you see them."

I think her planks are made of lucite and if I went to the planks in her platform I would feel like I was suspended in space with only my anti-gravity boots to keep me from crashing down. You can't write this stuff. Truth is truly stranger than fiction.

When this election season started who would have ever thought that a black american would have a chance at being president of the United States. Where did the party go wrong? It seems the first thing was the choice of candidates. Even though I think we had some good people in the race ,it seemed that no one wanted them. So we ended up with McCain and the only reason why was people thought he was strong on military issues. As the election went on the war in Iraq got less important and the economy came to the front. Now we had this highly educated younger black man ,that only has one house ,one car and a big smile versus the old guy that had been in office forever who does not know how many houses he owns or what kind of cars he owns. Now it becomes a close race. The war not being very important and people losing their jobs becoming more and more important. The republican party sees the race getting tighter but instead of talking issues decided to start a campaign of lies. Obama is a Muslim , an Arab ,a terrorist , a Socialist ,a Communist next week he will be a space alien. It got so bad that McCain had to tell the crowds at his rallies that he was not an Arab or a Muslim but an american and a christian. If all of this was not bad enough he picked a person that acts like she is wacked out on drugs ,but it is just her normal self. She claims to be a Christian but it does not bother her to tell lies on top of lies. Says she is just a hockey mom but how many hockey moms spend 18,000 dollars a week on clothes? Just that one thing scared the conservatives into thinking she was not a conservative at all. Palin and McCain has made Obama and his wife look like the conservatives. Now we have high ranking republicans jumping ship.

The republican party I belong to was less government and less spending but Bush has turned it into big government and the most spending in history. McCain could still win this race but he will have to start running a better campaign. Get back to talking issues and talking less about Obama. Tell the american people what he will do and stick to it. If he does not do these things then it will a long time before the republicans will be in control of the white house. The straight talk express went down a very crooked track and it better get back on the straight track pretty fast or it will be lights out for the republican party.

Congress does the spending and makes the rules not the president. The congress is run by the democrats. If they don't want us in Iraq they could vote for us to get out, if they don't want to bail out wall street they could vote not to.

The president is the main person and he has to take responsibility for what happens. Just like at the shop ,if something goes wrong it all comes back to me. Everything that has been passed has been approved by Bush. He has vetoed a lot of good bills but has passed more bad ones. Working middle class like me and most of you have been left out of the loop. We keep losing our jobs and everything that depends on our jobs. I do not know how much longer I will be working. People are not spending any money on fixing or buying vehicles. The president has to be a motovatior ,like Reagan and Clinton. The democrats have went along with Bush and by doing so has let him bury the republican party. He has made the party look to be a lot more liberal then conservative. That is the reason McCain needs to distance himself from Bush. A lot of republicans will think ,if I am going to vote for someone that is liberal then I will vote for Obama. McCain would have made a good president but he got away from the issues and used the old way of smearing someone to win and it has back fired. I really think that Palin was his biggest down fall. A lot of good people were passed up for a Barbie doll. Now Palin is throwing Bush under the bus. Funny how things change.

The president does not pass bills, congress does. If he vetos it ,they can revote and pass it without his signature. If the president is in control ,then blame Clinton for signing the bill that deregulated the banks which put us in this mortage mess.

The way I see it is that if Clinton did start it ,Bush and the republican party had 6 years to change it before the democrats took back control. Again it goes back to doing a job. Say I take over a shop that is going down hill and 8 years later it is still going down the hill. Will the shop owners say well it was the guy before you that screwed things up? No they will say the last guy was bad and you are no better get the hell out. I voted for Bush but he is one screwed up guy. Been a republican all my life and was hoping McCain would do something but he is just a washed up old man ,sort of like me. :D

Never said repulicans are perfect, but I don't want my money going to people who don't work. Spread the wealth sound's like socialism to me. I think we need to get rid of all of them and start over. Lower the pay and not let them get any perks from lobbyests. That would keep 99% of them out.

Tying in motor sickles and politics....

"I was looking at the Sturgis schedule, and noticed that you had a beauty pageant, so I encouraged Cindy to compete. I told her [that] with a little luck, she could be the only woman to serve as both the First Lady and Miss Buffalo Chip." ―McCain, on the annual Miss Buffalo Chip Pageant, which features topless (and occasionally bottomless) contestants, Sturgis, South Dakota, Aug. 4, 2008

Like we are not royally screwed right now! The last eight years have just been a jolly old cake walk!

We have the most megalomaniac VP EVER who has made it a personal mission to change how HE perceives the role of VP - with disastrous results. He took Dick Army (At the time House Majority Leader) to one side and personally stroked his fluffy hair until Army was gung-ho for WAR when all along Army (quite rightly) gut knew it was a bad idea. Ask Dick Army what he thinks of Dick Cheney today - he is not a happy camper. If Army had been agin' the war there probably wouldn't have been one.

We have an ill educated, dry drunk who takes pride in his xenophobic, red-neck, good ole boy diplomacy - all this "My way or the highway" BS. He has no idea of what diplomacy is - "Hell let's just bomb them all. If they don't want to do it my way i ain't gonna talk to them."

Right now I think you could safely say that we do not have an effective Government and please don't blame THAT on the Democrats. How the hell can you make any change with those two tossers & their cohorts in the WH.

Don't bloody start me off. The first time Bush got voted in I thought - well bad stuff happens but the second time. Absofarkinglutely gob smacked!

I blame it all on Newt-Brain Gingrigh and Lee Atwater who should have stuck to the geetar. Hee haw.

Guess we need another lying, cheating Clinton again. I still think all of them are out to help themselves, I just prefer the lesser of two evils.

ass backwards

If Americans had less of a puerile, puritan attitude about sex and more of a disgusted, horrified reaction to martial solutions then the pathetic sight of a President having to fib about getting a blow-job would be a non-event.

On one hand you are all righteous and horrified that (A) somebody gets a blow-job and (B) they lie about it. On the other hand you are blasé about a (A) somebody lying about a reason for war and (B) the validity & success of the same.
