I may be the first to order the newly released SARGENT seat for the VERSYS

I will post specifics and impressions when it arrives

$399.90 including shipping with the $50 pre- registration discount

I havent been terribly Uncomfortable yet, but have only done a 100 mile day... I had the seat in my shopping cart, then backed out last minute. I should've pulled the trigger for the bragging rights :joke:

I am on the fence between the Sargent and the Seat Concepts that a few people seem to be ordering and woulds like to see some feedback on both before ordering.

Sargent seat, who's on first?

I ordered a Sargent seat on line Friday night and received an order confirmation this morning. They sent a FedEx tracking #, but it's not on the FedEx site yet, so I'm not sure if it's been shipped or not.
I've always been a Corbin fan and have their seats on two of my other bikes, but IMHO the Corbin for the V looks like a leftover from an 80's metric cruiser.

I actually started working at a Harley Dealership on weekends, and was glad because at a kawi dealership I'd spend all my money. I was safe until the parts guy said they could order from sargent at 10% over cost for employees. The seat is so new so it isn't in any of the catologs but the parts guy is going to make a couple calls for me. Fingers crossed.

I'm on the fence too between the Sargent and the Seat Concepts. Can't wait to read some rider reviews of the Sargent!

sargent seat


SARGENT SEAT Regular height All black

Initial impressions;
Very attractive with carbon fiber pattern on seating areas, plain panels and
piping
Their proprietary seat pan is a work of art

The seating area (both rider & passenger) is 1 in. wider and slightly dished
where the stock seat is crowned longitudinally 5/8 inch (both rider & pass.)
"Think wedgy"
Stock slopes toward tank 5 degrees....Sargent neutral
Workmanship is outstanding

Will put some miles on tomorrow and report back, but so far I am more than pleased

Impression after a short 50 mile ride;

The seat contour positions the rider back from the tank about one inch

No sliding forward, but easy to get forward to weight the front wheel when
desired...also easy to shift side to side for more aggressive cornering

The thing I was surprised by was the obvious firmness of the foam...
I noticed it less as the miles went by...hope it is just a matter of noticing
the contrast

So far , it is a keeper

I put 60 miles on the seat yesterday...

I agree with just about everything said...

The stiffness was a bit unexpected. Because of the seating position I think I may go with a riser on the handlebars. The seat is wider and you really notice that when you are stopped you can feel the width on your thighs. however when riding its not an issue.

I may throw the airhawk on it and see how that combination works.

So for me the jury is still out....need more seat time to decide.

I sent my Sargent seat back. I felt cramped, like I was sitting closer to the tank than on the oem seat. I measured the distance from the seam at the rear of the rider's section to the nose of the seat and the oem was 13.5", the Sargent 13". A person does sit a little higher on the Sargent because the firmer padding compresses less, but it's still shorter. I felt like I was sitting on the edge of a chair with just my butt on the chair, no thigh support. Hope it works better for others than it did for me. It cost me $41.50 for shipping both ways, and I have a Sargent baseball cap to keep as a souvenir.

Installed my new Sargent seat this week and so far it's a keeper. No more sliding forward when stopping and seems very comfortable. Only downside is the seat is slightly wider at the front and makes the bike seem a little taller, not a big deal for me at 6 ft tall but some might have to make adjustments.

Another update on mine....tried it with the AirHawk for a short ride yesterday....that was awful....it brought the forward slide back and didn't just didn't work for me. This morning I took the AH off and rode to work wearing my Roadcrafter suit. For some reason the little but of extra padding the Stitch gave made the seat really comfortable...Still a lot more riding to be done before I 100% decide but right now I'm leaning towards keeping it.

Got mine today. First impression... It's ten times better than the stock seat.

First thing I noticed was the look. The fit and finish are amazing. It just looks dang good on the bike.

The foam *is* surprisingly firm, but not in a bad way. It supports me very well, no "hot spots" like I had on the stocker. I wish I had longer to ride today because I think the seat will only further prove itself the more time I spend in it.

I did not notice the seat being slick. It is easier to maneuver around on but I didn't find myself sliding around under breaking or whatever.

It does definitely increase the reach to the ground. I'm 6'3" so this is a non-issue for me but I could see it being annoying to somebody sub six foot.

It was a very well spent 400 clams for me. I'd recommend it but I'll wait until I get a dozen or so hours in the saddle before I officially put my "stamp" on it. More to come....

I'm 6-2 with a 34" inseam so I'm looking to get rid of the forward slope and get a little more legroom. I know that the seat concepts seems to be the most popular but I'm still having trouble deciding.

I still have the stock seat so can't comment on those but I am the same size as you and found the peg extenders made a big difference

I have a Sargent's seat..the lowered one...I love it...BUT I'm only 5'9..so....
