Has anyone used the Roadstercycle.com kits?
Which one and are there any mounting issues? Wiring seems to be pretty straight forward to me. I don't mind spending the money for easy.

I am quite familiar with his site, about 5 years ago he was carrying the SH775 BA Polaris, now it is the SH847 Supper kit for $208 plus $12 shipping. The Polaris 4016868 is a series regulator that is rated at 50 amp which is what I am running on my 2015 as of March 2019, i purchased the regulator new from Polaris for $128 Canadian including 13% tax. I assume they should be under $100 USD and a Triumph harness is about $15, so for $115 you have everything that roadster is offering, plus you will need to follow my post for wiring it in. But if you choose Roadster , please post some photos.

FYI I just checked and it shows you have a 2012 Versys 650, mounting the 4016868 could be a challenge, although JPD did a install on a 2013 and posted , post #14 is the start https://www.kawasakiversys.com/foru...-polaris-4016868-regulator-series-50-amp.html

The 4012941 Polaris is much easier to mount, however the price is ridiculous, only option is to buy a verified used one. I stopped doing the verification months ago, unless I get a request.

Hi Wiz...thanks for the info. Actually I'm thinking of buying a 2018 or 19 and I should have said the upgrade would be for the new one.

either the old 4012941 Polaris or the new 4016868 Polaris will work, also the one from Roadster . Except for the 4012941 , all others need a adapter plate made.I am running the new 4016868 and it seems to run much cooler , need to wait for warmer weather.

Why go with a Polaris regulator? What is wrong with the stock Kawi one?

Has Kawi upgraded their regulator?

FYI I and @invader have been running series regulators since about 2008 or 2009, my present bike is a 2015 Versys 650ABS, I changed out my CompuFire series regulator in spring of 2019,I now run the Polaris 4016868 , much larger and rated at 50 amp , the upgrade was simply the fact I purchased directly from a Polaris dealer as the 4012941 price went through the roof. When I bought it, it was about $10 more than the original 4012941, before the price doubled. My purchase was simply my research in coming up with a alternative, having it sit on the shelf once I proved it was a series regulator made no sense. So I now have one Compufire and the original Kawasaki regulator, plus 3 of the 4012941
Short answer, the stator failure and shortened battery life is directly attributed to the shunt regulator.
