For the occansional foray to the track, odd moment on the roads, I cant justify big money on rearsets. And as it was getting hairy on the limit through heavy grinding last time out, I've had a quick go at raising the pegs myself

this just a trial/get hole spacing correct while off work sick, so not my best work. but now have raised 30mm.

On the right side with basic hand tools, its not practical to use plate, Hence the use of the OEM with raised peg only for the time being. Although thats the easiest solution. So included both ideas.

I also plan on taking the final rev's on the next big trip as spares, as the OEM seem to crumble at the first minor off from what I've seen/read. These weigh nothing.

Anyway, it works!, Levers line up fine, feels good to ride, is quick, simple, and cheap (Cost about $15 in ally plate and couple of hours in garage)

good work, and you are so right, those oem footpeg brackets snap at the slightst sneeze. I've had both mine break, one was during a parking lot, no speed (literally zero) drop.

Just wondering outloud since I am not at my bike and can't check but I wonder, can speedy's peg lowering kit be reversed and mounted upside down to raise the pegs?

From the one pic I saw, dont think so, theres seems to be a shoulder the peg rests on one side (quite stressed IMO) that cant be reveresed.

Heres a rough sketch I did at the time. Might make it easier to understand.

Basically, the extender lays flat agiant the existing OEM face, as does the peg itself, which prevents the whole lot from rotating. Arrows indiacte stress areas.

I'n fairly happy with the horizontal positioing, but with a new plate, its dead easy to make multi-adjustable, as in fact you can with this design, none of its rocket science.

i'm starting to work on mine now.

on the brake side, i'm going to attach a plate where the stock peg/levers bolt to know.

then i can bolt the stock peg/lever to the plate, but back farther.

just mocked up some templates, looks like it will work.

same template for both sides, just flip one side over.

i'll post some pics once i make the real thing and see if it works.

yes you can use the left as a temple for right holes.

But Post up your plan for the right side, as the problem there is the need to replicate the brake and peg pivot and resovoir mounts. Also Mig some brackets on to hold the brake switch or use a pressure switch.

the left side, I intend to add some welded on plate to enable the peg to be recess'ed and with a ally soldered notch to prevent rotation of the peg. (althoug its not moved yet as is)

by the way, the rear footpegs will go on the front easily enough to reduce witdth further, but more likley to drag your foot.

here's the template i will use for the right side.

i will just bolt the stock bracket/peg/lever right back onto this plate.
i'll do the same for both sides.

this will make it easy to switch them back & forth if i want to.
just 4 bolts and your done.

i will have to get a longer shifting rod, since i'm moving mine back 2''.

I see, your moving the whole affair and not using the space frame. That wil work but you gain width, as the original is recessed, plus the width of the plate. But if not too bothered about lean angle, that will work fine.
