I’m about 1500 miles from home on day 3 of a three week trip and this happened.

Hit a deep pothole at about 35mph. Tire still holds air and had to ride about 55 miles back to my home base for the trip. Didn’t have any issues. That being said I don’t feel comfortable riding like this.

can it be bent back or is it now scrap?

Any other bikes use the same rim as the 09 versys 650? I called a local motorcycle salvage yard and they didn’t have any rims for the gen 1 Versys.

Luckily there’s a few motorcycle repair shops in Denver that specialize in motorcycle rim repair.
I hope it’s fixable as it’s gonna be very difficult for me to pony up $1500+ for a new set of rims for a bike this old.

ok I found a place that can fix it, or at least I think they can. They don’t open until tomorrow but it’s a shop that specializes in repairing damaged motorcycle wheels.

I’m having a little trouble trying to get both ends of the bike in the air to pull both wheels and do the whole job at once. The shop is about an hour each way from my location.

anyone have opinions on the rear? Is this something that can live as is?
