I just confirmed that the 2023 still does not have cruise control. Somehow during my research of various bikes I got the wrong impression that it did. I would think with all the new electronics they would have included cruise control.
Yea, it's tough to keep the price tag low (under $11K in this case), but provide all the bells and whistles that people want. I think Kawasaki has threaded that needle fairly well.
For me, the bike that has it all is the Tracer 9 GT, but it's also a substantially more expensive bike.

had the mk3 for a year and now have a mk 4 ..first time ever ive bought the same bike
i rode the 1000 and the 1000 se before i decided on the 650 again ..i find the 650 more than capable of solo touring at a decent pace ..i do prefer the mk 4 i think the cockpit intruments lighting is much better ,,
what i would say that it is not really powerful enough for two up for me but riding solo i prefer it to the 1000 just my take
if i needed a passenger bike id deffo would have bought the 1000 as the off time ive taken a pillion it just cuts its balls off a little too much ..iput a 16t on last month and have really taken to it did a good run on it and theres very little need to rev the bike over 6500 which in the real world is knocking on 90mph it deals with stuff in a kinda soft easygoing way soft engine soft suspension ..but a little hammering in third and fourth it does shove along pretty well covers ground deceptivley quickly .
needs somthing doin with the seat lower pegs are good if ur taller and proper big screen but it doesnt cost a lot to sort them bits out it .had 252 miles up today and it took 19 litres ..really is a pleasent bike to travel on ..its not going to light up your senses like maby a tracer 9 will but to me its a much more pleasent long term seat easy in the corners minimal fussing with the gears ....might be a litle too sensible for some i guess but ive had pleanty of big bangers on the past and massive acceleration isnt the top priority nowdays ..real world 30 to 90mph it a sweet bike to ride for me
