The previous owner had installed the Kawasaki gear indicator and relay. I wanted a power outlet that would fit in the clutch side hole and I found a $6 outlet on Amazon and installed it but the power plug from my GPS fits kind of loose in it. Has anyone done something similar and been able to tighten this up? Is the factory outlet tighter?

Yep - definitely got my $6.00 worth. Going to ride tomorrow after wrapping it with Gorilla Tape to tighten it and see if it stays connected.

Nope Nope. The tall GPS “cigarette lighter” plug interferes with the left hand guard when turning the handlebars to the right. I’ve ordered a similarly installed USB outlet. Now with that I‘ll need a power cable preferably with a 90 degree USB male plug that doesn’t send the GPS into data mode. Heavy sigh.

I have the factory 12V outlet. I'm using a flush-mount dual USB adapter in it (I have a rubber dummy plug currently in the unused slot), and am powering my Garmin XT GPS using this coiled cable with 90-degree plugs:

Does that send your GPS to data mode?
