Seems like a lot of folks seek to get a bit more comfort from the seat, either for the rider or the passenger or both.

If you have modified or changed your seat it would be helpful to see a picture and your thoughts about it.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

I modified the factory seat by creating a flatter area for my butt to sit on and narrowed the sides up towards the front. I don't have hot spots anymore as weight is evenly distributed. Also did the front mount rise mod, with everything done there is no sliding forward.

I have another OEM seat, AND a set of seat-foams available. VG condition.

PM me if interested.

I did both- bought a Seat Concepts and then modified it. Very happy with the results, perhaps the best seat I've had on a motorcycle.
Attached is a photo of the Seat Concepts as purchased, before the mods.

Very happy with the Sargent. Search this forum and you'll find many comments on aftermarket seats, mostly good. Few have compared different brands, so it seems all of the options are good enough. Pick one without overly agonizing over your options, and you'll probably be quite pleased.

The Sargent totally solved the forward slide problem for me, which was my main complaint with the stock seat. It also spreads the support over a wider area, so it doesn't feel like you're punishing the prostate which the oem seat did. I'm average height and skinny, and the Sargent is very comfortable all day.

hers the thing i guess im pretty big built 16 stone and over 6ft 1 and the segent does not suit at all ..much better with the slope mod and a cushion and lowered pegs
point being with all these seats its really a lot to do with the build of the rider there were endless complaints on the xt660z forum about the seat and i had no bother racking up 60k miles on one ..so i guess its just pot luck as regard your build and where your bits press in a lot of cases ....i had a dl650 with a sergeant seat and it was fab but somthings not well with the one i have on the v650 its not so much the seat i guess it more where my legs and arms place my butt ... so mant variables i suppose
the old dl 650 had me sold compleatly on the sergeat seat it really did it was ace it racked up 148.000 miles as a work horse
strom was my daily rider for 14 years so go and figure from there i cant ? same seat from same manufacturer totally diferenent feel ?
