That is a great looking duc. I had a m9 a few years ago and they handle great and look great. I'm glad I dig the versys because that is what my checkbook allows right now. but that is one hot bike

Nice. If I had a pile of stupid money laying around, I'd get one to go with a new VFR. Two different shades of red, I think.

Went saturday to the local Ducati showroom and saw the new Desmosedici RR, WOW. The multistrada they have is the old model, ugly as hell. The Hypermotard and the Street Fighter are amazing bikes. If you ask me I would rather get a 2010 Z-1000.

Looks like they took out the lining in a ring jewel case and stuck it on back for a back seat cusion. Her booty better be small. It does look fast, take a curve hard and I betcha her butt will pull it off when she "tightens up".

I need to see it for real. Yeah, it looks better than the older style, but I'm not liking the front end at all. The motor, though, that might make a man forget about the front end, look at the Versys...

I've been drooling over the Streetfighter.

I tried sitting on the Streetfighter, but the exhaust sticks out too far where my right heel wanted to be causing a very uncomfortable angle to my foot. It was so bad, it was a deal breaker. Total eye candy ruined by an ergonomic oversight, IMHO.

I read the design information. WOW there is a lot of tech in that bike. push a button and re-configure fuel mapping and engine performance and supension settings ABS effectiveness and traction control. An so much more! tire temperature and pressures.

No wonder it is expensive! That is not a UJM.

Holy Jebus that bike is complex. Ducati service techs must be well edjumecated.

The 2010 Versys is $7599, the base model 2010 Multistrada is $14,995.

It's a big jump, but not 10 grand. A used model in about 2 or 3 years would be an attractive choice in my book.

Seems high but then the Versys doesn't have any technology. It is the difference between a hack saw and a computer controlled plasma cutter.

the hack saw is usually enough but sometimes you want the refinement afforded by the plasma cutter.

Looking at all the tech on that bike, I can't get my fathers voice out of my head, saying "just more crap to go wrong". Cool bike but how confident would you be to set out on a trip to Alaska, South America, etc on it? Probably just me, but the older I get the more I appreciate simplicity and long term reliability....
