I have a 07 model that I lent to my friend for a few days while his car was off the road, he liked it so much he wants to buy one.
Now he's found the exact same model as mine but it's travelled 135,000k (over, 100k more than mine..) and mainly been used as a commuter. It's got new chain and sprockets, filter and plugs plus new brake pads and it's in generally good condition with good tyres and some extras, no signs of ever been dropped or crashed. It does have a service history for the major jobs as well.

It's a fairly low price but should we double check any areas? The clutch is original and so is the starter and battery. The 5m ride I had on it felt ok, no gearbox issues or rattles just the clutch felt a bit 'long'.
Just wondering if its getting a bit long in the tooth?

In the US you would be lucky to get $2000 for that bike with that mileage. If cared for and kept up with the maintenance there is not reason it can't go another 100,000k. Of course there is a higher likelihood that there will be more maintenance issues.

I would be carefully looking at wheel bearings, head bearing, swingarm bearings, linkages, rubber bits, etc.

The mileage wear would also depend on whether they were country or highway commuting verses city commuting.

if the price is right id get it, you can always replace the motor for fairly cheap (just find a totaled out ninja with a good motor and slap it in they are a dime a dozen now days)

I have an '08 in AZ that I've put 79,054 miles [127,5xx kms] on. It's NOWHERE close to being 'worn-out', and LOTS of those miles were put on in the desert on roads and two-track.

Unless I do something STUPID to it, I expect to keep riding it till I CAN'T....

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately my mate sat on the fence too long and the bike sold.. Was a good deal IMO for what the owner was asking.
