A video of Sunday afternoon hooliganism on my Versys. Fresh paved top coat that has been down just long enough for oil to be scrubbed off. I scooted this reach three times along with a bunch of similar that are not as nicely surfaced. Figured the 3rd pass both ways by a local deputy’s house as he was trying to enjoy watching football with that little parallel twin wailing by was pushing my luck, so I left his county (his is the first house at top of ridge at about 6:20-25, orange cone marks his driveway). Pure fun.

I have a farm over in Giles County Virginia and the roads in the area look very similar. I love fall riding there! Indian summer...leaves turning...Very nice! Enjoyed your Video

Buk, did you realize that someone has "inadvertently" inverted yo windscreen??:D

Ima wondrin, is that Supra Tenere or the V more fun for you on a road like that??

Nice video!

I just rode my V down on the first longish ride down to my daughters in SC.
It sure was fun but best while I was in the mountains of Va and NC. I took I-77 out of WV. I'm suspicious those NC boyz are trying to keep secrets about their good roads.

Olegeezer, I gotta ask,

Does W(bg)V = West "By God" Virginia????......man, I've not heard that in 15 years or more...really takes me back in time to memories of some of my old Southwestern Virginia riding buddies

@ Hardware...Pure fun!

@Versystole...cheapo Flip camera velcroed to my left chest pocket.

@ Rik...roads very similar to Giles Co. but due west.

@ OleGeezer...road nearly in your backyard. And yep, I told ya the Versys was up for longer journies. Mine has experienced lots of VA/NC roads. EDIT: and it would be the Versys hands down compared to the Tenere for this purpose. Tenere is good for its size, but will not toss near as quick and tight as the Versys.

@KnoxvegasMike...info like that would require a field trip to WV and lots of good beer on you! Sorry that one's private stock. I've never seen another bike on it and I've been riding it for years.

Yes it do, and if you lived in the southern most county you were from the "free state" of MacDowell........
I lived in Tazewell Va for a few years way back.

Knox, if you're askin bout the NC roads, it was just south of "North Wilksboro"
on some back road. I ended up at Sherills Ford just west of Mooresville on the way to Lake Norman. By the time you get to Sherills Ford, its all flat land.

And beer??? phht... of course I'd bring beer...

As for NC, I love that playground! :thumb:

Anyone here rode the "back of the dragon"?

I just recently heard about this stretch. Here's a link: http://backofthedragon.com/
Yes and it is a great road! From Tazewell Va to the foothills of the Blue Ridge in NC. I've ridden it several times and I'm not bored with it yet. Nearby parallel roads are good too. Rte 21 from Wytheville to Sparta and Rte 18 are all fun to ride.

Aw PHUCK! Tell me they are not gonna commercialize Rt 16 and screw it like they have done the dragon. That bites. The good news is that just like around the dragon, there are even better roads in the general vicinity.

I might have ridden Rt 16 a time or two or twenty.

Most recent trip...This…well this heah…is a video account of a road. When ya ride from Tazewell to Marion, though beautiful country, it‘s not about the scenery; it’s not about the riders; it is not about the bike, cruiser, rocket, tourer or tricycle, makes no matter; it’s about a road…VA 16 S. Here in lies MrTwisty’s (my friend Mike) virginal run on this legendary reach of paved delight and beyond…Enjoy.

My brother lives in Newark. If you come down, maybe we could schedule a ride to eat and get as many Vs in the ride as we can from southern WV? Or what ever?
