Coming from a Ninja 1000 to a Versys 1000, I was a little surprised that Kawasaki didn't give us full adjustability on the V-1000's suspension. Noticeably absent: compression damping. Nothing a fork oil change can't fix, but really??
Cheers,
Tim

Hi Tim, was considering getting a V1000 to replace my 2011 Ninja 1000 but decided to replace it with the 2016 Ninja 1000 touring model, thought it might be a bit weird having a versys 650 and 1000 as people might think I belong to a cult lol.

Well played! I absolutely loved my Ninja 1000, but my 50-(cough, cough)-'something-back wasn't getting an hour or two between mandatory stretch-stops on touring runs.

Totally agree, the v 1000 would be far better than ninja on long trips, if I go more than 200km I need to put airhawk on.

FWIW - in June I rode three (roughly) 11 hour, and one 9 hour, days returning from Dawson City to Kelowna, BC on my '09 650.

Worked pretty well for me....
