2017 used Versys 300X is my new ride, but came with TX title and I live in CO. So, I must have a VIN “check” verification by local police. The VIN under steering column is only partially visible without dismantling fairings. Is there another more accessible VIN? Local cop looked at it, shook his head and said, “sorry, can’t read it.”

And your question I think if like the Versys 650, you need to take the fairings off or try and get a cell phone camera in there and take a photo. You should also be able to take your Vin number and Contact Kawasaki, they will send out certification documentation to you or may even email it to you. I did that for my 07 as someone in the USA was interested in my Canadian Versys and needed it for title transfer. It took like 3 days total by snail mail, at no cost!

72 and still riding in S. CO Brought this 2017 300X and need to do a VIN check. The one under Steering head is not entirely visible. Is there another. VIN on this machine. Can’t get title and tag until Law Enforcement does VIN check

Is this bike stolen ? That information should be on your ownership. As to emissions standard, you take your vin number as I recall a series is in the service manual as to emissions standards , you can also request this from Kawasaki.
