Not sure about the Givi name plates ... if they are "skid" pucks like my t-rex, they would go a little further down ... basically a wear spot to protect the metal if you drop the bike.

You might take note of where I installed mine. At the rate I'm going, I'll wear them out! This is my second slide and unfortunately I must say, that the upper rear mounting tube, the one that has an open end that is plugged with a plastic cap, sticks out just far enough to where if, as I have now done twice, if one slides the bike across a rough surface that end can snag on whatever it is passing over. In my case, I have had to remove the bent bar and tweak it back into alignment. More or less. The last time the bars bent enough to have my aux light just kiss my plastic enough to crack it. Nothing that JB Weld couldn't fix and is hardly noticeable. Now I am not bashing
GIVI. I like the bars and think they look good on the bike. But in my particular encounters with the deck they definitely snagged and pushed rearward enough to require tweaking back into shape. Maybe other brands would have fared better, maybe not. And if I had NO protection, my plastics would have been destroyed, so I guess they did their job. I have also had several tip-overs where the bars completely protected the bike and were fine. But the pucks are showing some character...I always tell people the thing I like about the VX 300 is that WHEN the bike falls over I can upright it myself with reasonable effort. I just need to stop proving it!

PS If you do plan to drop it on the left side, carry a spare shift lever and a 10mm wrench! I bought an IMS shifter and the bike wears that, with the stock one in my tail bag. I have bent the IMS one a few times now, as it seems very soft. However, it is easily straightened and most importantly seems to sacrifice itself rather than having the SHAFT break. Of course, staying on two wheels might be the best solution, but where's the fun in that? As long as no one gets hurt!

Is that a WR25R I spy in the background? If so, you're obviously a man of impeccable taste and refinement, as that is the combo I currently own.
Not only is that a 2020 WR250R, it is my third WR250R. I owned a 2008, a 2013 and now the 2020. When they discontinued the WRR in 2020, I panicked and wanted to have a WRR for as long as possible. I purchased the last new one I could find and sold my 2013. I've owned 20+ motorcycles and never considered buying the same bike twice... until I owned a WR250R.Is that a WR25R I spy in the background? Mine is my first WR250R and I like it very much, though the operator could use a tune-up or two....
Took a solo ride in the state forest today. It was about 40F and 20 miles of asphalt to get there. Luckily, I was sporting heated everything. 😁
Here's the only dicey part of riding solo in the middle of a 1.2 million acre pinelands preserve.

Looks WET and... COLD!
I don't mind being wet OR cold, as long as I'm not wet AND cold. Winter riding is something I enjoy so I have good Goretex gear and heated everything. I walked both sides of that big puddle before deciding to ride along the right edge.
I'm really enjoying the Versys X 300. Why did I wait so long to get one?
