Hey,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Joey Burgos from Austin Texas. Riding motocross for 13 years and just (sept 11) bought my first street bike, the versys. Been loving it since day one and has been the first street bike that i have ever owned, and reminds me of my yz250 but heavier. I had been in the background until i saw the Versys Decals for sale from Eric Davis........ i had to join the borad, but do want to say that man the decals are sweet and Eric gave me a great deal. I'll post after i can post.

Oh and the versys, bought from Universal City Kawasaki TX..., a brand new 2009, 1 mile (that the service tech did while i was there waiting for the prep & delivery of the bike), $4630 out the door, no money down. Yeah the other reason i bought the bike!!! So now i moto and street ride.........Brappp (yz250 two stroke) !!!! Joey from Austin.

That's an awesome price....just one more thing that makes the V so great. BTW, the V's got a tad more engine braking than your yz doesn't it? ;)

Sounds like a pretty good deal! Yay for more Vs in the ATX! I'm not exactly sure how many there are, but I know I've seen at least 3 others, 2 reds & one blue. Someday we should do an Austin V meetup! I know there's already been a couple, but I've missed 'em all so far.

Welcome to the club!

Welcome aboard! I bought my V this year from Universal City Kawi as well, except I paid $350 more than you OTD for a new 2009. Oh well, I figured it was still a deal for a brand new bike.

I second (or third) the notion of a V meetup in Austin, and then maybe the Sisters or something.

There were times that i had to look around because i didn't recognize the sound coming from my exhaust.......no braapppp !!!! hahahaha. The weight of the bike and speed has helped tremendously in the dirt. I was thinking why did it take me 13 years to buy a street bike.....i could have done both the entire time !!! Peace........joey.

I'm 49 and still riding moto........ the street has really helped me more on the dirt (riding a heavier bike and managing it) and i believe that the riding moto has helped on the street (close in riding with other moving objects and jumps) Since you race elbow to elbow with everyone, the effect of cars and other vehicles being close does not bother me much.......... now other drivers not paying attention ..... well i've had my head on a swivel for sure but don't panic when people do drift or come into my lane. It's all been a great fun from day one. Peace.........joey.
