Hello all. Hope everyone is excited for Spring.

I started riding Oct 2013, after taking MSF course, and have been riding on a Yamaha xv250. I always wanted to ride, just never took the plunge, and at 35, I finally found a benefit to doing so being that I work 32 miles from where I live in Los Angeles. Traffic is nuts out here, and it's legal to split lanes, so I've been doing so safely and so far so good.

I love it and prob still new to it all, all I do is think motorycles. I am fortunate to be employed, and though my job isn't anything exciting, I do have the pleassure of either taking the freeway or the back route which is Malibu Canyon Rd to PCH and back into the city. It's the highlight of my day, and satisfies both my adventurous side of life and my pocket due to the low maintenance and commuting expenses.

I saw a Versys for the first time last year, and I've been thinking of joining the owners' club and hopefully posting all about it on this forum. So far, I've been reading a lot and I might be ready to take on a bigger bike now and reading through posts have boosted my confidence, not to mention lowering it with Speedy's tool cause I am 5-4 1/2" short..

Love everyone's posts, and help, and useful information so far. Can't wait to share my own experiences and pictures.

Thanks for reading.

Yes sir! It's scary sometimes, but doing it safely can definitely get you places even if the law were to officially put a cap on speed and start ticketing and harrasing those who do so. Commuting is a daily thrill. I hope they allow it in other states soon, cause I haven't had a chance to go further out of city limits in the 250, but I am sure looking forward to taking a road trip out to Vegas on a bigger bike.

Heading to Vegas is a breeze on the Versys. I gets windy out past Riverside to Vegas so make sure you have found the sweet spot for your windscreen. If you get a chance while out there you should check out Valley Of Fire Park....
