Hi all; I am in the market for new levers for my V. I broke the tip off the clutch side, which I smoothed off with my dremel, but it is just a little too short now. I have looked at the Pazzo levers but they are so expensive. What makes them worth the money and are there better options? :feedback:

I like the stock levers on the versys. I would just replace the broken lever with a new stock one and save some coin. I've looked at the levers you mentioned and i don't mind spending money on my v but i couldn't justify spending that much for them. www.cheapcycleparts.com has a clutch lever for the v for $14.76

Broke mine, too. How I fixed 'em.

I dropped my bike and broke the clutch lever, too. I noticed that the remaining lever was about as long as the two-finger race levers I had seen, and I thought I might be able to approach the look.

The lever broke in the weakened area, so I took the broken piece and cut the ball off of the end with a hacksaw; ground the cut end down to approximately the roundness of the ball. Then I used a grinder to shape and taper the end of the lever until it would fit in the factory recess of the ball. Using QuikSteel Epoxy, I attached the ball to the end of the broken lever, shaped it to taper properly, and left it to harden for 24 hours.

Then I removed the lever and applied three coats of Plasti-Dip tool handle coating to smooth out and cover my 'cut and epoxy' roughness. Reinstalled the lever, liked the working feel and looks, so I did the front brake lever, too.

In the pictures, you will notice that the levers are not the same length on the finished work; but they both end at the same location on the grip, and feel the same when gripped.

Nice!

Good idea! The stock levers are fine, modified just as good if not better. Being adjustable, I find no need to drop $180 on pazzos

Thanks for the info guys. You would think that for almost $200 there would be something vastly improved over stock that would make Pazzo's and others worth the money. I just can't see it.

If you have your heart set on the Pazzo's I can sell you a set for $125 shipped to your door. That's the clutch and the brake lever for $125. They are black with black adjusters. Very good shape and ready to go. I like stock levers better although many people swear by these levers. I guess its personal preference.

Just talked to the powersports guy. Not a lot of intelligence on the other end of the phone. Versys? "What is that?", ER6-N, "Who makes that?" "I can't confirm the part number you giving me." I do not reccommend POWERSPORTS.

Appreciate the link though. I will try some of the others.

I did just take my 09 Versys brake lever and put it on my wife's ER6-N. So she is good to go. I just have a very short brake lever on my Versys at the moment. Btw, the local Dealer, Calmes Motorsports wants $60.00 to order it for me. Ouch.

Thanks,

Vic
