I was doing some maintenance on my 2011 and found a plastic washer under the bike... Of course after I had it all buttoned up. Had a chance to check a few fasteners but couldn't find anything missing. It's one of those white plastic washers with an 8mm ID and 16mm OD. I had taken off the right foot peg and rear master cylinder, the plastic that covers the swingarm pivot, (both sides) the lower fairings (both sides), and the lower forward fairings around the forward engine mounting brackets (both sides). It was not from any of the plastic pieces I removed as the washer is a different size and they were accounted for - although I had taken the rest of the plastic off the bike previously.

Wondering if maybe the washer had come off previously and was laying inside the lower fairing or something? Seems like it belongs somewhere on the fairings.

Anyway, appreciate any help in figuring out where this one goes.

semi clearish -white washers are from plastics to keep bolt heads and washers from scratching paint, check your body plastics to find the one bolt missing the washer..... or dont. it really isnt going to hurt anything other then some round scratch's under a bold were noone will see them unless they take it apart :)

Silviefox - yes, I know it's not much to worry about but still curious since it doesn't fit any of the fasteners I removed yesterday.

Mattydiah - I have black ones on my front fender but clear on the silver plastic.

My 2012 has a clear nylon washers on the single bolt holding the 'L' shaped plastic above the foot pegs (But below the seat side panel). Bolt + Aluminium Spacer + Nylon Washer

8mmID:16mmOD is too big for the 5mm bolts that are ontop of the side panels just below the instrument cluster - These have nylon washers but they are 5mmID:8mmOD. My Side panels do not have nylon washers on the side bolts.

check the parts schematics (for the area you were working on) on any parts supplier site and you might find where it goes...sounds like a spacer for a plastic part to me as foxie said...
