Had a track day today but this was a bit different from the other three I had done on this track as it was raining and it was not a safety day but a have a go day organised by by the South Canterbury bike club, theses guys also organise when any bike racing is here such as NZ superbikes etc.

Due to the rain I was about the only non race rider there as every body else turned up with a support vehicle but the track is less than 5 min from my house.

The girl on this bike slide out twice but was not hurt, I had already decide not to go back on after lunch as it was to risky to my orange horse.

This guy next to me is Johnny Small and he is a NZ 650 cc champ, we went out in the same group and did ask him if he would have any problems keeping up, he went flying past me at the end of the back straight and me being me opened up a bit but when into the wet corner a bit hot and had a small rear wheel moment then decided for the rest of my time discretion is the better part of valour :D

Of course we need a shot of the mighty V to finish

They are going to do these days more regularly but next time i might pay on the day as it would of been more fun to have some street bikes in our own group. Pulled the pin before 2pm today as the rain was not going to clear but was a good test of my wet weather riding and the pirelli angels on the rear.

On sunday also went on a ambulance run with the Ulysses club, we had to donate $10.00 per bike and the money raised went towards the ambulance service. The day started out fine but ended up a very wet day and we had to put our rain suits on.

Ended up taken a pillion for most of the ride and she is a reporter at the local paper is going to do a story on being a pillion, she asked a couple of other riders to do it and the did not want to so my wife volunteered me, this lady does have her own bike.

Nice report and pics. There have always been two places that I want to see, tour NZ, and go to the races at the Isle of Man. You have a beautiful country with many brilliant motorcycle personalities.

Yeah, bravely done on the wet track day. :thumb:
I like it that you can post a report on your Sunday ride while I'm still in my jammies and slippers, having a first cup of joe. :)
It looks like a nice day here, but starting out cold, about 32, well, about 0 for you! We'll get out later on, though still stepping carefully with sand in the corners.
