No technical problems at all! Damn! I'm bored here at work and would like to post about something. I'm old and grouchy and like to bitch about stuff and this bike just starts and runs like a clock. No leaks, no knocks, just a ball to ride and enjoy. I've had a few BMW's and used to be able to post about problems very frequently, I started to enjoy it... And now nothing.
I think that's why these forums were invented, for us to complain and yell at each other, it was fun. Now look at what Kawasaki has brought about by designing this wonderful bike, the Versys, almost world peace!:right:

How about the cold weather we in Colorado are experiencing? I hope the Aspens aren"t ruined, I was planning a ride next week to check out the gold.

Ok, I'll bitch.

I hate cleaning/oiling air filters. Dirt bikes weren't too bad to access, but still a messy job. This bike's air filter is a pain to get to. Luckily it doesn't need servicing often. My filter wasn't too dirty, & this was my first cleaning @ 8500 miles. I wish someone would come up with an air filter like a car, easy to get to & made of paper. And make it cheap & disposable!!

It's ridiculous to have to remove the windscreen, both sets of side panels & the tank just to get to the air filter. I did change the plugs while I was in there, though.

Yeah, this happens almost every year here. But it will get nice again and we will enjoy some great "Indian Summer" weather. Next week the color should still be great!

I love to go internet shopping, researching is more like it. I want a Harley, a Mini Cooper, and an Airstream. But, I have a Versys, a Subaru Forester XT, and a Winnebago. And try as I might, I can't justify changing any of those 3, they just do all I need done in a very enjoyable fashion. So, back to the porn.

Oh, yeah? What oil do you use?

Gustavo
In 6000 miles I've changed the oil and filter 3 times now. Just used the Kawasaki oil and Kaw filter too. I've read hundreds of posts about oil and filters over the years but still think it's good to use the Manf. recommended stuff the first couple years. After my next oil change (still have 2 quarts in the jug!) I'm going to switch to a synth oil. I haven't decided which brand yet. As for filter I will stick with the Kawasaki one.
OK, let the flaming begin!:teetertooter:

Our air filter is under the tank?wtf!
Am I reading right? We do have to pull the tank to get to it? Does this include unhooking lines from tank or can it just be shifted enough to access the filter?

It's easy to do, the fuel line has a quick disconnect connection & there are 2 electric connectors to disconnect. Remove the 2 bolts under the seat holding the tank down & viagra! Off it comes...

After you remove the windscreen & all 4 side panels, of course...

Wow, @ shop rates that would be an expensive filter change!
Thanks for the info bear on a bicycle! I'll make sure I allow plenty of time when it comes.
