I'm replacing both front & rear tires on the '08 I bought a few months ago. It had 15K miles when I got it and now has just under 19K.

As I was removing the old tires, I read the DOT manufacturing code which tells you the week and year they were produced.

Can it be they are the original?! DOT code = "2109" which indicates they were made the 21st week of 09. Not bad for a set of motorcycle tires. The old are Bridgestone and I'm going back with Shinko 009 Ravens.

The OEM tires would have been Dunlops. It looks like your Bridgestones replaced the original tires, and had lots of life in them too.

No - the OEM tires might say "2107", or something close, as well as being Dunlops.
