Is the flash available now if we PM Steve and send in our ECU, or should I wait for an announcement that it's "publicly" available?

Just joined and got this bike but will watch this product development closely. No low end power complaints on my 18 (advantage of moving up from a 200cc I guess) but the on/off nature of my throttle is annoying and surprisingly bad for something not drive by wire.
Try tricking the ecu with a quick startup right when you turn ignition. this loads a richer fuel map, less engine. breaking. my 2019 stock versys is actually really good at 3000rpm even in 6th gear. Im pretty impressed with stock tune

But as far as power. I raced motocross from elementary all the way through high school. To modify the bike for more power meant that the reliability of the bike took a hit. So for me I'll buy a bike for the power i want then tweak the safety and comfort.

I don't think you have read much about the ECU flash for the Gen 3 bikes. The ECU flash from Shoodaben is about smoothing out and increasing the power delivery, eliminating the on/off nature of fuel injection, increasing the usable rpm band down to 2000 rpm without stumbling, and more. It may give you more power also, but that is not the primary benefit. It's a remarkable change with makes riding the bike far more enjoyable.
