It's funny how you meet certain people in life. This is an amusing little story of how i met my best friend at age 17.:)

My best friend through HS told me he lived in my house.

We were in junior high, 7th grade I think. this new kid showed up for the first day of school, sat beside me in english. I went to a pretty large school that drew kids from all over the county so it was common to not know everyone on the first day.
I got talking to him, got a little background on him. His dad just got transfered from a job in Hawaii to southern Indiana. They bought a new house that wasn't quite finished yet so they were living in an apartment temporarily until their house got done. He went on to explain where his house was, the conversation went something like this:

He said: "turn left out of school, go 2 miles, turn left, go across the creek through a couple bends for 2 more miles then turn left on BrenLee Dr. My house is the second house on the right".

I said "No, that's not your house, are you ****ing with me or what?"

He said "How do you know where I live?"

I said "I don't know where you live but I do know where you don't live, and you don't live in the second house on the right because that's my house".

Of course, as it turned out, he was moving into the second house on the left, right across the street from me. We were riding buddies from age 13 to 18 when he went off to Purdue and I went in the Marine Corps. When I got out of the Marine Corps and he graduated from college we both moved back to southern In and became room mates for a couple more years. We are now seperated by 600 miles and a lot of years now but we still keep in touch. We had lots of good adventures, by todays standards, we should've been dead multiple times. We didn't know it at the time but our parents had gotten together and made a pact, they swore if one or both of us got hurt or killed they would not blame one another. I've always thought that was a pretty cool parent move.
