Just got my Versys in May and have about 800 miles on it so far. Love the bike, but have one small problem. Once in a while, when downshifting at very low speed, I hear a small pop or spitting sound somewhat like a backfire. Otherwise it runs just fine. Anyone else experience this type of problem or have any suggestions?

Its caused by the PAIR valve , fresh air flows into the exhaust to control emissions and sometimes causes popping . not a misfire .

Shawn and Magnaversys,
Thanks for the info. My last bike was a Yamaha 700 Maxim X that I owned about 20 years ago, so I assumed someone who was more up to speed, so to speak, might be able to help me out.
