Google maps says 581 miles. Not bad for a February day in the northern hemisphere. :D

Hwy 36 & more

We've been having a spell of unseasonably dry weather in northern California, meaning that some roads that would normally be snow covered were only wet and slippery. The highest pass we crossed was over 7000 feet.

A few shots from the day.

That's right. Next 140 miles.

The V acquitted itself nicely.

Thanks for the kind remarks, gents. Yeah, it's really curvy for 140 miles, and maybe a bit more. There is even one of those signs that says something like "Vehicles greater than 30 feet from kingpin to rear axle not advised". Not only is it twisty, some of it is downright tight and narrow. There are one or two straights on each end that are a mile or more in length, but those are pretty limited. In between you find everything else; high speed sweepers, tight little goat trails, mountain passes, romps through the redwoods, etc.

Nice picture and thanks for sharing.

It was a BARF group ride, so everyone was giving the "BARF salute". :D Sort of a, "We're here and you're not" kind of sentiment.
