I can't find my only key for my top case. 2011 Versys with Kawi small top case. Pretty sure the case is made by Givi. The case is locked. A new lock set is not expensive so if I can't find my key within the next day or 2 I will order a new one.

What is the best way to open a locked top case without damaging the case? Is there an easy way to pick the lock? Tips on drilling out lock to be sure not to damage the rest of the case?

Thanks

A locksmith should be able to open it for you easily. If it's the older style (not a laser key), it's a very simple lock and easy to pick. You could watch some youTube videos and do it yourself.

You might even be able to just brute force it with a large screwdriver.

I locked both my keys in my Givi E-55 Topcase awhile back. Took a flat head screwdriver and a hammer. Put the tip of the screwdriver in the key hole and gave it a couple of whacks with the hammer...Easy Peasy. Installed a new lock and now keep the spare key in my wallet.....
