Adjusting the shift lever during the course of installing Speedy's lowering blocks is a pain in the butt if you've already installed Motech crash bars. The rear mounting point for the bars is right behind the shifter spline and almost close enough to prevent removing the clamping bolt from the shifter linkage....

Oh, I got it sorted out.....I held the lever in mid shift and it made enough room to do what I needed to.

Are you saying that you had to turn the linkage on the spline by a notch?

I didn't need to remove my shifter from the spline.
I just adjusted the rod length with the threaded adjuster.
That gave me just what I needed.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Yeah, I turned it a notch on the spline....I didn't like how little thread engagement I had between the adjuster and the rod ends when I adjusted it with just the rod.
