hello... old guy... southern Alberta... 2017 kawasaki versys-x 300 abs, 2007 honda vt750, 1976 yamaha xs500, 1970s yamaha gt80, 1980s honda xl250, 1992 yamaha xt225 serow, 2006 kawasaki brute force 650 quad, 2010 baja 250 quad, 2010 baja 50 minibike, 2008 honda 50 jazz scooter... wow that's alot!

love my versys-x 300. changed final gearing from factory 14/46 to 15/43 - gains: better manners, more road-like, still geared low enough for fire/back roads, better milage; losses: gear indicator (don't really care about this anyway - none of my other machines have one), taller wind screen, 60/40 tires, tusk panniers/duffel/tank bag, 120 db horn, and all the factory upgrades - guards, (silly) factory panniers, drive lights, stand, rear box. try not to ride at night. high vis. posted speeds.

ride AB, BC, SK, MT, ID, WA, OR, CA, WY, CO, UT, NV, AZ. fav rides: BC/WA kootenays, AB foothills, Glacier Park, Hwy2 MT to WA, pacific coast, Northern CA, AB hwy 40 forestry trunk road. fav places: twin butte general store, porcupine hills, glacier park lodge, small-town roadside cafes and bars - nuthin better ('cept maybe versys-x)

i needed fork service info and found the factory service manual here - THANKS for that.

hey DmitryS... being re-tired does provide lots of time, but most of it is taken up with family and various projects... and, of course, can't afford to insure them all, either!!... i ride the versys-x mainly, but also the honda scooter around town (quick, easy, cheap, and a stare-generator) and the xl250 and xt225 around the farm... some the kids ride and the rest are 'resting' but loved just the same.

I have done MANY Glacier Park rides, as well a tour thru there, top DOWN - in my '62 Vette.

GREAT ride, especially IF you camp outside the Park just off Montana 89, which is a SUPER TWISTY ride that you get to do TWICE each day that you camp OUTSIDE Glacier!!!
