I never want to try that or even come close. That said, I am fascinated and amazed to see the video from the bike showing just how fast everything goes by. I watched another vid yesterday where the guy racing said it is frightening to race that race and he was #2 at the finish.. Yes, they have big ones but they still are not taking it lightly.

Look @ 2:25
Seems he hooks-up and makes the corner after all. I don't see the rider changing his input. Is it just the camera angle or is there some magic going on? What ever it is..its AMAZING!

After watching it over and over..he does change the bikes lean angle and drops his knee a little more. It looks like he tugs the bike down to a more severe angle and SHOOTS to the inside!

Speed that boggles the mind. You'd have start your steering input for a curve some 100m before the curve because, in reality, you'll be IN that curve in about 2 seconds...

Seeing that race, add to the Bucket List.

Yes, it's mind boggling. Hell, I thought it was scary enough in 1970 when, as a member of the little known Thistle Racing Limited (as in limited success), lapping at 100 mph during the Manx Grand Prix was impressive. Mostly though we blew up a lot, but it was still a life time experience.

Now we visit the Island as tourists and it's still spectacular and quite pleasant when the place isn't jammed with motorcycles. Guess we're a bit too "senior" to appreciate all the crowds any longer. As they say, "Been there, done that." Oh yeah, and loved it too. :thumb:

Way-back-when I thought I'd like to ride the IoM....

That moment has DEFINITELY PASSED!

:goodidea:
Riding the Mountain Course in the fall after all the racers go home is really nice. Weather is generally pleasant and the traffic is light. Just have to remember the roads are open and to stay on the wrong side of the streets. :D
