Greetings!
Just got my break-in service done on my new leftover 2017 Versys 1000 LT today.
I'm coming off a 2007 BMW R1200RT that I loved and put 86k miles on. Had that thing all farkled up, just the way I wanted it.
Time to start a new project!
This is not my first Kawasaki. I owned a 1990 KLR Tengai for 17 years. (I tend to keep bikes a long time...)
Been a while, but I think I still remember how to take care of a chain.
So far I'm really liking the big Versys, but there are things that need some attention.
The "wind screen" is a silly contraption. I'm researching aftermarket.
The seat, I hated at first, but after 700 miles it seems to be getting more comfortable. Still waiting on the wife's judgement.
I am getting used to the throttle. It can be pretty jumpy until you get used to it. I am (mostly) pretty smooth with it now...
I am looking forward to learning more, and hearing about how others have farkled their Versys.
The only real gripe I have about it is... It's black. Apparently, here in the US all the silver ones got bought up. Are you paying attention Kawasaki? BRING BACK THE ORANGE!

Maybe I'll paint it. (one of these days...) ;)

Oh, I'm located in Southern California.

Jeeze, this site sure has a lot of restrictions on new members...
Anyway, Pasadena Sandwich Co. Has THE best sammiches around!
I usually ride by Newcomb's on my way to Wrightwood, and The Grizzly Cafe.

I only stop at Newcombs for photos. Use to go there on group rides when i first brought my bike out here in 2011. The food and service sucked then. So i to always went to the Grizzly Cafe ever since. The last time i went to the Grizzly i was really disappointed the food was way sub-par for them maybe a new cook or something. I have a video where i run across Matt Farah from the Smoking Tire. He was testing and reviewing a Ferrari and they mentioned they were just at Newcombs. I told them i always go to Wrightwood to eat because the food and service at Newcombs sucked. The owner from Newcombs saw the video and said they were working hard to turn things around but if would be fine if i never come back there. I told him no problem i wasn't planning to because i can get lousy food and service anywhere...

Heres from my last trip to Grizzly. The eggs are suppose to be "soft scrambled" as you can see in the photo they were cooked to death. The pancakes had no flavor. I was quite surprised because for years every meal has been spot on...

Everybody has an "off" day I guess. Maybe the cook was hung over.
So far I haven't been disappointed by the food there.
Have you tried the Evergreen Cafe? I have not, but they have "breakfast all day"...
One o' these days I'm gonna drop in and see.

Haven't been there. The first time in Wrightwood we stopped at the Grizzle Cafe and it was so good i never thought about stopping anywhere else...
