I had Klaus at EPM Performance install Hyperpro lowering springs on my Versys and glad I took it to him. He didn't like the sag numbers he was getting for the rear spring (I'm much lighter than the average male rider this spring was likely designed for), so Klaus found a better spring for me that will still lower the bike, but was wound differently so less stiff and better sag numbers for me. What awesome customer service! I wanted a black spring, which is what was ordered but didn't work for me. The spring he had is purple. He wants me to ride it for a week, and if I like it, he'll order the black spring. Maybe I'll end up liking the purple when I see it!

Looking forward to picking it up tomorrow and hoping it warms up around here so I can ride.

I too have had great service from Klaus and EPM. I've gotten HyperPro front springs, rear springs (all progressive), and rear shocks - all with good results. Klaus was very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend him.:)

Hope it works out. I rode today, second ride. I want to lower it, I struggled getting it off the kick stand at an angle, on the toes. Managed ok but would like it to be lower. Has anyone had any issues with a lowering link?

IF you can... my suggestion is to ride it a bit before you lower it, as you may NOT want to or need to after some riding. I am 5' 10", 31" inseam.

(I'd lowered my KLR because it was so high, then finally went back to stock height which was MUCH better!)

I lowered mine but left the front forks alone. I have not had any trouble with riding the bike through twisties etc. and it definitely made the seat a lot more comfortable. Before lowering, I could only stand about 20 to 30 minutes on the seat. I just finished a five hour ride over the weekend and it made the seat much more tolerable. Just some more food for thought IMHO.

I and many others on this Forum have used Speedy's lowering link (with the Flatfoot accessory for shortening the kickstand). It has worked great for me, and I've heard of no problems from anyone else. I also lowered the front, as Speedy suggests and guides. Unless you are very experienced, IMHO, I recommend you lower the V until you can easily flatfoot when stopped.

Thanks friends. I will be riding it for a little while until I lower it. Waiting to see how things work out with Hondagal. Going from a CBR to the Versys is an adjustment. It's a big bike! Maneuvering it around the garage was interesting. Riding it was good! Rode yesterday a little. Unfortunately, I got sick last Friday and today would have been the perfect day to ride but went home from work early not feeling good. Hope others got out and enjoyed the weather.

It is different pushing a bike with high handlebars around the garage, compared to the lower clipons on a sportbike, that's for sure!

You got to do what you have to for safety. The only thing is no 2010 to 2015 centerstand. And the center stand is a work of art to work at all.

Just figure it out in as few of conversions as possible for simplicity (for many reasons.) Every conversion will change everything else.
