That's something you don't want to ever see on your motorcycle.

I hit a deer years ago, going bout 75 mph in my 74 Ford Van.

F O R D...Found on road dead. Two fatalities that day, my van and the deer.

I hit a fawn while driving my SHO a few years back, going about 55 mph. FIRST thing I saw was an inch or so of its head [running right to left] above my hood just as I hit it, bunting it ahead and right about 75 yards, so I immediately looked into the rear-view mirror checking my "six" - to see whether it was safe to pull over, and saw the fawn's TWIN running just past my rear bumper. I stopped, checked the fawn after pacing off the 75 (or so) yards to where it lay in the right-hand ditch - MULTIPLE fractures from the way it was twisted.

Co$t some bucks to fix, but only cosmetic damage. I didn't even see the Mom....

How's that fawn doing now? Did you take it to the vet? ;)

I side-swipped a Moose once, which left a couple dents and some Moose hair on right door and rear fender... I then ripped open the sheet metal on both driver's side doors and wrecked the rear wheel when I caught the end of opposing guardrail at start of a right turn, after overtaking the snowplow. Moose was gone when I went back to check. :surprise:

That happened to me and a bud while riding the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sport bikes.

The deer jumped out of the woods above the road and landed on the hood of an oncoming minivan. I was braking hard when I noticed that the deer was being catapulted right at me. I nailed it and the deer passed between me and my bud. He ended up with deer hair on his gear.

We putted below the limit until we got to our campsite for the night.

My van was towed away and I rode home with friends about 2 hours away.

Drove back the next day to tow the van home. Getting to inspect the damage in the day light we discovered deer poop down the passenger side and dear snot down the drivers side. Blew that sucker out both ends. Guess you could say she was a double ender.

We never found the deer the night of the crash. I think you can see her on a clear night cuz we knocked her into orbit!:wink2:

It's more of a case that they don't stop and look both ways before crossing a roadway... They simply keep going and try to make it across as fast as possible, before some crazy car lunges for them.
